Oktoberfest Festival

Sandra was so sad when she realised she’d miss this event. On the other hand, she’s currently in Germany and I hope she’s getting some of the real deal of Oktoberfest. And even though I’m sure this weekend will be a blast, it probably can’t match up the real thing.

This coming Saturday you’re all invited to South Wharf Promenade to celebrate Oktoberfest and, as they say, embrace your inner German. Yes, well have one. That’s the little voice inside your head telling you to buy an extra insurance, drink some beer and chew on a pretzel.

From 10am – 6pm the promenade offers German and Australian entertainment such as traditional keg tapping (don’t ask me, I just image googled it and I’m no closer to understanding what it is, but it intrigues me), German slap dancers (!), music and other stuff. And for all you MasterChef fans out there, there’s even a Q&A session with MasterChef’s own Byron Finnerty (2pm). Hey, we almost forgot the most important part: There’ll be a beer garden and pretzels! What more can you ask for?

If you’re the dress up kind of person, then don your best Dirndl or Lederhosen for a chance to win a $1,000 voucher to Munich Brauhaus and a nights accommodation at Hilton South Wharf.

PS. If you have no plans for lunch tomorrow, there’s a Meat Market Pop-Up BBQ Lunch between at 12pm and 3pm. Doesn’t sound too shabby, does it?
