Our picks from the event calendar:
Exxopolis Luminarium – The Jam Factory Rooftop car park will be the home of a monumental sculpture whose labyrinthine tunnels and cavernous domes entice visitors to immerse themselves in bright colourful light. The inflatable structure spans 53 metres in length and nearly nine meters in height. It occupies the space of half a football field and is constructed using 3,000 square metres of plastic. Just journey through the cathedral-like spaces and experience its awe-inspiring sense of wonder.
Shot in the Dark Photography Exhibition – Earlier this year, photographers were invited to enter a competition to capture the faces, places and lights of Stonnington. The winning photos were curated by judges Joel Rainford and internationally acclaimed mobile photographer Misho Baranovic. Using innovative technology, the exhibition will be displayed in retail precincts throughout Stonnington.
Flicks ‘n’ Feasts – Combining food and film, this event has it all. Think Kung Fu and Dim Sum, Bollywood and Curry, Western and Pizza, Godzilla and Sushi. Experience a culinary and classic each night in an outdoor laneway at the Prahran Market. Entry to the movie is free, so get in quick!
Arts Burst Pop Up – will fill Chapel Street with performances, beginning with a musical parade of Batacuda Boys dressed as fluorescent bulls and later showcasing contemporary dancers, acrobatics, circus performances and musical concerts.
