Have you been to Greville street? It’s that quaint little artsy street in the heart of Prahran. There’s plenty of cute small shops along it, as well as an abundance of brunch spots. I can come up with 6 places within a one block radius at the top of my head. You’d think it would be hard to stand out among the crowd, but Oscar Cooper does well.
First out, Oscar Cooper will always have a special place in our Klaus and Fritz hearts. It was over brunch at this place that Sandra excitedly pitched the idea of this site the first time. if you would ever want to re-live that oh so special moment, please buy us brunch and I’m sure we can do a re-enactment, just for you!
Anyway, that’s not what you came here to read about.
It’s a cosy place as well. The place it’s essentially all windows, letting in heaps of light and the rugged walls adds some character. But it’s not too ragged – you can still bring your mum here for a Sunday treat without her feeling utterly old and out of fashion.
This is the kind of place I wish I wasn’t a vegetarian. Well, no way I’m starting to eat meat again, but when I saw people receiving said burgers, they did in fact make my mouth water and I kinda wished I could order one. Alas there was no veggie burger on the menu, but plenty other things to choose from that were equally mouth-watering.
And the food? Well, it’s as yummy as can be expected and was far better than a lot of other options nearby. Simple, crisp, clean flavours nicely presented. And do try their freshly squeezed juices. It’s health + yummy treat in one pretty package.
The only issue I came by was my own; I only spotted the cocktails after I ordered. I mean, who doesn’t want a Peach & Basil Mojito, or a Vanilla & Passionfruit Caipiroska? Well I certainly do.
And now that spring is in full bloom – take the opportunity to sit outside. You’ll need some luck though, as I’ve never (I repeat that, never) seen an empty table outside. Well goes to figure though – great food eaten in sunshine – that might just be the best thing there is.
